As one who worked for about 40 years in the healthcare community in fund-development (philanthropy and community relations), I often admit that I really got my education in healthcare when I became a cancer patient in 2006. That story is told in other posts and content that are basically archived in this FLIPBOARD.
But this post is less personal and more of an introduction to discovery about the topic, DNA. Given that my cancer survival, now almost 13 years post-DX (diagnosis), is largely due to the science of DNA, the topic remains a focus of my attention.
In 1962, long before DNA was of any significant concern to me, Maurice Wilkins, Francis Crick, and James Watson received the Nobel Prize, but it was Rosalind Franklin’s data and photographs of DNA that led to their discovery.
