The last SLIDE by this POST

On the day in which the golf world is watching the $9m ‘Match’ between Tiger and Phil, I am reminded that most of us have a golf game that more closely resembles what the late great Bob Hope describes above. ▶ SLIDE

As with the bulk of the humor written for or by Bob Hope, his depreciation of his golf prowess was more fiction than fact.  According to this SOURCE, he had a four handicap at one time.

With many of my social media followers, I have shared my experience with essential oils and aromatherapy, providing definite and sustained relief from upper respiratory distress.  That condition stems from the acquired Secondary Immunodeficiency that came from long-term chemotherapy and post-transplant-therapy for mantle cell lymphoma (MCL).

Q ▶ Essential oils history?

For many years, doctors recommended the use of essential oils, but were at pains to explain exactly why these compounds or extracts worked in the way they were reputed. Some of these treatments were for relatively benign conditions, such as skin irritation. Others were believed to handle substantially more complex issues, including cancer. The fatal flaw of these usages was their…

As a long-term cancer patient in CR (continuous remission) since January 2010, my internal radar scans for information about immune system issues to fight infections of all types.

After all, soon after my April 2006 diagnosis (DX) with mantle cell lymphoma (MCL), I learned that the root cause of lymphoma is inflammation (runaway growth of normal cells) within the lymphatic system. One of the most common families of drugs that are used to fight inflammation in the body is ANTIBIOTICS.

23May13 }:{  Reports trending today give details about the death of 1986 Nobel Prize winner Heinrich Rohrer.  One of the latest uses of Dr. Rohrer’s invention came this year, when I.B.M. scientists made what they call history’s tiniest stop-action film, as verified by Guinness World Records. Called “A Boy and His Atom,” the film assembles atoms into the image of a small boy and shows him dancing, bouncing about and playing catch with an atom. It was made by moving atoms frame by frame — 250 frames in all — and magnifying them 100 million times.

Dr. Rohrer, who shared the 1986 Nobel Prize in Physics for inventing a microscope that made it possible to see individual atoms and move them around, an achievement that led to vastly faster computing and greatly advanced molecular biology, died on Thursday night or early Friday morning in Wollerau, Switzerland. He was 79.

One startling fact: A hallmark of our time

According to the PRC a couple the years ago, 2011 Jan. 1, the oldest members of the Baby Boom generation celebrated their 65th birthday. In fact, on that day, every day since, and for every day for the next 17 years, 10,000 baby boomers will reach age 65.

The aging of this huge cohort of Americans (26% of the total U.S. population are Baby Boomers) will dramatically change the composition of the country. By 2030, when all members of the Baby Boom generation have reached that age, fully 18% of the nation will be at least that age, according to Pew Research Center (PRC) population projections. But don’t tell Baby Boomers that they are old.

In fact, according to the source, the typical Boomer believes that “old age” does not begin until age 72, according to a 2009 PRC survey. Also, while about half of all adults say they feel younger than their actual age, fully 61% of Boomers are feeling more spry than their age would imply. In fact, the typical Boomer feels nine years younger than his or her chronological age. }:{ alt@link
