Bezos Divorce Might Be Handled as ‘Quickly as An Amazon Delivery’
Not surprising to see virtually the whole world following and commenting about the Bezos split, but have you noticed how silent Mackenzie (Mac) is on the subject? If you were about to “inherit” half of $140 billion, how public would you want to be?
Affluence and influence will always define Jeff and Mac, no matter where or when you read the Bezos chronicles about their future life. Now, Jeff and Mac will lead separate, but always connected lives. Together, they will remain at the top of the 1% group in the world.
Although the Bezos divorce is a fait accompli, speculation abounds about asset division between the couple: Amazon, Washington Post, Blue Origin, or Bezos Expeditions, all of these or none. Lawyers and financial planners will gain lucrative compensation sorting this out. Now that the world ruminates the most expensive divorce in history, at least the story about the richest man in the world getting divorced, many ask how much his wife will get.
When, if ever, will anyone understand gender neutral? Jeff Bezos knows.
Well, from the beginning, half of Bezos’ fortune has been always due to his spouse, as stipulated in Washington state laws. So, first, he is not the richest man in the world, but he is divorcing the richest woman in the world. Plus, she is not getting anything, she will just keep her wealth already earned in spades!
TRIVIA: As of 2019, the most expensive U.S. divorce is reported to be Steve and Elaine Wynn in 2010, which was $1 billion (est.). Oil tycoon Harold Hamm famously wrote a check for $974.8 million in 2015 for his divorce. Clearly, Jeff Bezos will eclipse all records in this infamous category.
By far and away, the typical divorcing couple (like the account of our story in the lower case) is usually trying to get a fair distribution of minimal home equity and modest personal assets, usually less than $100K total value.

Like most men who marry and divorce once, the second marriage rarely lasts for the rest of life. Fact check the data. While mega-rich empire builder Jeff Bezos gives advice on choices, he opens himself to millions who question choices. Too late in this life, at least, to rescind his first marital crash landing, but you can expect more news about his inability to stay in the fidelity lane with the women in his life.
Truthfully, when Bezos founded Amazon in late 1994, no one predicted the enterprise rocket primed to launch. Yes, this was a partnership and always has been. How else would she claim a 50% stake in the $140B business? Also not forecast was the demise of the Bezos marriage after a quarter century. That twist of fortune was as little expected as it was for Jeffrey Preston Jorgensen (at birth, 1964, now Bezos due to adoption) to have become the most wealthy man in the world, even if that title proved to be temporary since he will probably relinquish the position in 2019.
Even with his pending misfortune, something to which Bezos is unaccustomed, he might nod agreement with the following ruminating message: “I don’t think young men or women should be pressured to marry. You should not marry anyone whom you know you may have to fix.”
A answer to the question: Why men should not marry? Given their 25-year successful marriage and the great commercial success of their lives, Jeff and Mackenzie Bezos may not choose to discourage anyone from marriage, regardless of the odds. What’s next for Mackenzie Bezos? Freelancer Molly Brown offer: “after spending more than a couple decades in Jeff’s shadow, and hopefully what she does is for the better public good. The social media story of the Bezos life, the world’s most wealthy couple, is viral by the current definition. Most of the content gleaned for these specific chapters of PrimeInfidelity® started with the “ruminations” in a TWITTER feed for Mackenzie Bezos @_MackenzieBezos, an unverified, now suspended account not authorized by the namesake. I suspect the suspension was because virtually all of the content consists of retweets, not tweets from the source. As we know, Mackenzie Bezos is too accomplished as a writer not to write. She writes mystery novels, not diatribe.
Also within the former Twitter feed, now extinct, was much content that is harsh, even disparaging to Jeff and Amazon. Ex-wives often succumb to social media bully tactics, but given her Bystander Revolution mission, McKenzie is not in this community.
Given the background, education, and experience that Mckenzie brings to society, the world expects to see her third novel soon. Perhaps she will add a tome to her current genre, making it a trilogy. Possibly, she will head in a different direction.
The most recent year (2016) for which statistics are available shows that Washington State had about 24,500 divorce decrees or a rate of about 3.4 per 1,000 marriages. After 25 years of marriage and the accumulation of super wealth, Mackenzie and Jeff Bezos probably did not expect their marriage to become a state statistic in 2019. Stuff happens.
